Conkey's Bookstore is the oldest independent bookstore in the state of Wisconsin. Located in downtown Appleton since 1896, Conkey's has been the recipient of local, state, and national awards attesting to its excellence as a full service bookstore. Here you will find a vast selection of over 120,000 titles including many of which are hard to find elsewhere. Since its inception more than a hundred years ago, Conkey's has been a family owned independent bookstore.

As an integral part of the community, a special effort is made to support the local literary community through placing books in our extensive Wisconsin section and through hosting of poetry readings and reading groups.

Conkey's is more than a fine bookstore, it includes a distinctive Gift Shop which offers customers a unique selection of cards and gifts. The store's renovations in the early 1990's allowed for the Gift Shop to be expanded.

Conkey's business philosophy has always been service-centered toward it's customers. "Our goal is to provide customers with a broad selection of books and merchandise. We believe that to serve others is a privilege and a responsibility."
